Trick Mist - Both Ends (Vinyl)

The debut album from Trick Mist, aka songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Gavin Murray, released November 2018 on Pizza Pizza Records. Written and recorded over two years at home in Ardee, on the road through India and South-East Asia, and finally in Cork City, the title nods to that constant comparison between travel and home, and the album carries its journey in its bones.

Field recordings gathered along the way, temple songs, a Cambodian wedding band, a pub singsong in Munnar, are woven through Murray's experimental electronics and storytelling vocals, with additional voice from Hilary O'Mahony on 'Green Grass' and 'Abroad in The Yard'. The result is strange, ritualistic and oddly ancient-sounding, the foundation for everything he's built since. Pressed on 12" vinyl with artwork by Steve Blower, Hilary O'Mahony and Murray himself.
