newhvn - Spring Time Blues (Limited Blue Vinyl)

newhvn rose from the remains of acclaimed Irish post-rock band A Burial At Sea. The members took themselves off to Black Bay Studios on the Isle of Lewis and stripped their instrumental past back to something with voices, songs and bruises. Spring Time Blues is the debut that came out of it, ten tracks that fold their post-rock instincts into grunge, shoegaze and proper alt-rock hooks.

It is widescreen and emotional without tipping into excess, equal parts the open-road sweep of The War on Drugs and the ragged heart of Pinegrove. From a band who have already shared stages with Touché Amoré, This Will Destroy You and Gleemer, and played ArcTanGent, Other Voices and Dunk, this is a real arrival.
