The sixth album from two-time Choice Music Prize winner Richie Egan, and his first Jape record proper in eight years. Three years in the making, Endless Thread was born of a desire to return to classic songwriting layered with kaleidoscopic oddness, drawing on the great solo records of the seventies, McCartney, Judee Sill, Robert Wyatt, John Cale, and filtered through Egan's own warm analogue setup of ribbon mics, tape machines and tube outboard gear at his RARN studio. Mixed by David Odlum and mastered by Seán Mac Erlaine, with 3D-printed cover art by M&E.
Heal These Wounds opens things in bright, melodic form, The Hilbert Hotel is a humorous meditation on infinity, and the piano-led parting shot Fuck the Church says exactly what it means. The Irish Times called it his most cohesive and well-rounded album to date.
