Horslips – The Táin (Solid Red Vinyl)

The 1973 masterpiece from the band that invented Celtic rock, newly crowned Classic Irish Album at the 2026 RTÉ Choice Music Prize. Horslips' second album retells the Táin Bó Cúailnge, the great cattle raid of early Irish literature, through the voices of Cú Chulainn, Queen Maeve and Ferdia, welding traditional jigs and reels to electric guitars with a confidence nobody had attempted before. Dearg Doom, built on the bones of O'Neill's March, remains one of the most recognisable riffs in Irish music, later burned into national memory via Italia 90, and the album's influence runs through everyone from Thin Lizzy to U2. This limited edition solid red vinyl pressing, cut in Ireland by Anthem Vinyl and housed in a gatefold sleeve, is only the second authorised vinyl pressing since the band's own Oats Records copies in the seventies.
